Document Description

Committed. To the Gaol [sic] of Claiborne County on the 29th July, a negro man who calls himself JIM SPENCER. He is about five feet seven inches high says he is thirty one years old, and belongs to SAMUEL ARNOLD near Louisville, Ky. and that he was brought to this country in a flat boat, by a Mr. CHINN, who was in partnership with his master.—The owner is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take him away.
