Jail of Amite County. Was Committed to the jail of Amite county on the 6th of September instant, as a runaway, a Negro Man who says his name is TOM, and that he belongs to a Mr. MATTOCKS, now running a steam boat on the Mississippi river, and that he left the boat at Natchez—Tom is about 6 feet high, dark complexion, thin visage, and from appearance about 30 years of age.
