Document Description

Jail of Adams County. Was committed to the jail of Adams county on the 20th instant [Oct.], as a runaway, by Justice Tooley, a negro fellow by the name of HENRY, who says that he belongs to WILLIAM BACON, of Vicksburg, in this state; he is 5 feet 9 inches high, says he is 21 or 22 years of age, has a remarkable large mouth, and thick lips, is clothed in coarse linnen [sic] pantaloons and shirt, and blue domestic roundabout; no other marks notable. The owners of the above negroes are requested to comply with the Law, and take them out of Jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor. Natchez.
