Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, on the 3d of August as a runaway by Henry Tooley Esq., a negro Man [sic] by the name of JIM says that he belongs to JACOB SOJOURNER:—he is about 20 or 21 years of age, five feet four inches high, his clothed [sic] is coarse linen pantaloons and shirt. The owner of the above negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor. Natchez.
