Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, on the 4th instant, by Henry Tooley, esq. as a runaway, a negro boy, by the name of JOHN, says that he belongs to THOMAS BOWLING, of Bowling Green, Kentucky. This boy is about 17 or 18 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, has on a coarse hemp shirt and linsey pantaloons, has remarkable large and thick lips. The owner of the above boy is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor. Gum Jail, near Washington.
