Document Description

$20 Reward. Will be given for apprehending and returning to me, or securing in jail, a negro fellow named DAN, who ranaway from the subscriber on the night of the 20th instant [Jan.]. He is about five feet ten inches high, very black, and has a scar between his brows—he took with him a suit of clothes of mixed cotton and wool, also a black bombazine coattee, a pair of broad cloth pantaloons. He is supposed to have in company with him as there is missing from my plantation a black Mare, about fourteen and a half hands high; she has a defect in one of her eyes, no brands recollected. Also an old saddle, torn across the seat, with a pair of plated springs stirrups to it. JAMES CARPENTER. St. Francisville.
