Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county on the 1st of February, 1828, a runaway negro, by S. Postlethwaite, Esq.—says his name is HENRY, and that he belongs to L[torn] PRICE of Claiborn [sic] county, Mississippi. This boy is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, he has several scars on his face, he has on blue cloth coat and pantaloons, and black fur hat. The owner of the above described boy is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of Jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor.
