Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, on the first day of Feb. 1828, as a runaway negro, by the name of PETER, of light complexion, says he belongs to PURCHE, a Frenchman, of New Orleans—this boy is about 15 or 16 years of age, five feet one or two inches high—he speaks the French language—he has on a check linen shirt and domestic pantaloons, and a leather cap. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor. Natchez.
