Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, on the 6th of Feb. 1828, by Henry Tooley, Esq. as a runaway, a mulatto man by the name of GEORGE, says he belongs to THOMS H[torn] of Claiborn [sic] county, Mississippi—he is about 21 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high—he is [torn] likely mulatto man—clothes, old drab coat and yellow domestic pantaloons, and an old fur hat. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of Jail. R. H. MAY, Jailor. Natchez.
