Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, Mississippi, on the 10th day of June, 1830, by H. Tooley, Esquire, a negro boy who calls himself CHARLES, of dark complexion, about 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 1-2 inches high, had on when committed a pair of blue cloth pantaloons, a drab roundabout and coarse linnen [sic] shirt; said boy has a good countenance, and healthy appearance, says he belongs to Mr. FAUCHE RICHARD, a Frenchman in New Orleans. The owner of the above negro, is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
