Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, on the 4th day of July 1830, by S. Postlethwait Esq. a negro boy who calls himself JOHN, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, of rather dark complexion; good countenance and erect in his person when walking or standing—said negro says he belongs to mr. WM. P WIRCH of Virginia, who has followed the negro trading business; said negro had on when committed coarse linen pantaloons, an old cotton shirt, and a seal skin cap. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
