Document Description

Twenty-Five Dollars Reward. Broke away from the ball and chain gang, on the first October, a negro man named JOHN HENRY, committed to the Jail of Adams county as a runaway on the 4th of July last—said negro is about 28 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, of rather dark complexion, good countenance, and erect in his person when walking or standing; had on a cotton shirt and light pantaloons. The specified reward will be paid for the delivery of the above described slave at the jail in Natchez. JAMES MCCAFFRY.
