Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county by H. Tooley Esq., on the 6th day of August, 1830, a negro boy who calls himself ABRAHAM MOORE, a mulatto about 6 feet high, and about 35 years of age—said negro has lost his right thumb, and a small part of his left ear appears to have been taken off. He had on when committed, a blue dress coat, a pair of cassinett pantaloons of a grayish colour, an old fur hat, a pair of fine new brogans, and sundry articles of clothing tied up in a bundle—said negro says he belongs to MATHEW LASSLEY of this county. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
