Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county as a runaway, on the 2d Oct. 1830, by Samuel Postlethwaite, Esq. a negro girl [GIRL] about 15 years of age, of dark complexion, and says she belongs to Dr. MERCER, of said county. Said negro had around her neck a large pair of iron horns or hooks. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take her out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
