Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county as a runaway, on the 13th Oct. 1830, by Samuel Postlethwaite, Esq., a negro boy calling himself EDMUND, about 18 years of age, of dark complexion, good countenance, and about 5 feet 5 inches high—said boy is knock-knee’d, had on when committed a long tailed black dress-coat, and yellow linsey pantaloons: says he belongs to mr. BOON formerly of said county. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
