Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, by James Carson, Esq. on the 15th day of February, 1831, a negro boy of very dark complexion, who calls himself HENRY, 5 feet 5 1-2 or 6 inches high, and about 21 years of age, says he belongs to THOMAS ELLIS, on the Homochitto river—said negro had on when committed, a seal skin cap, blue cotton pantaloons, a mixed roundabout, and tolerably good shoes. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
