Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the jail of Adams county, by H. Tooley, Esq., on the 1st day of March, 1831, a negro boy calling himself GEORGE, and says he belongs to JOHN IDEL on the coast; said negro is of rather light complexion, 5 feet 9 inches high, and about 21 years of age, had on an old white fur hat, old mixed roundabout considerably worn, and a pair of green corded pantaloons, and an old cotton shirt—no other marks perceived of any note. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
