Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, on the 9th day of April, 1831, by S. Postlethwaite, esquire, a likely negro boy, calling himself PETER, and says he belongs to Mr. DICK of New-Orleans. He is about 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, of rather light complexion, but not the least cast of the mulatto; swelled projected eyes—had on striped twilled cotton pants, good brogans, casinet round-about and linen shirt. The owner of the above described negro, is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
