Document Description

Runaway In Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, by Saml. Postlethwaite Esq. on the 17th day of April 1831 a negro girl calling herself KITTY, and says she belongs to the estate of ROBERT TURNER dec’d. of Jefferson County, Miss., she is moderately dark complexion about 25 years of age, has large white teeth, her feet very much turned out, and says she formerly belonged to PETER CREON of this place, she had on striped domestic dress, white handkerchief, and some other articles of clothing not worth mentioning. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take her out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
