Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, on the 4th day of May, 1831, by H. Tooley, Esq., a negro boy calling himself GEORGE, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 1-2 inches high, very black, square face, large redish [sic] eyes, bad countenance, his person is stout, has his left wrist broken—had on yellow linsey pantaloons, coarse linen shirt and corded roundabout; and says he belongs to JOHN ROBINSON, near Port Gibson. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
