Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, by James Carson, Esq. on the 7th day of May, 1831, a negro man calling himself WILLIAM, very black and slim in his person, 6 feet 1 inch high, and about 30 years of age, with good countenance—no marks of any peculiar kind discovered; had on yellow Kentucky Jeans pantaloons and coat, and coarse linen shirt, together with a pack of sundry articles of clothing principally of the Kentucky domestic manufacture, and says he belongs to ANDREW MARTIN near the Lafourche, Louisiana. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
