Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, by James Carson Esq., on the 7th day of May 1831, a negro man calling himself SOLOMON, and says he belongs to ANDREW MARTIN on or near the Lafourche La., said boy is 5 feet 10 inches high of very dark complexion, large reddish eyes, large mouth with thick lips, rather an ill countenance, stout made, and about 35 years of age; had on and in his possession a variety of clothing of the Kentucky manufacture, some yellow and some blue Jeans. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
