Document Description

$25 Reward. Ranaway, about the 6th of September, from the subscriber, living at Raccourci, a certain Negro man, NELSON, aged about 25 years; five feet five or six inches high, well made, strong and active; rather quick in his speech, but low voice; not very dark skin—nothing particularly remarkable about him, except a small scar on the left cheek near the eye. He had on, when he went away, a coarse white cotton shirt, coarse linen pantaloons, a brown linsey coatee; and a brown cap; he had also on one of his legs, an iron ring. The above reward will be given to whoever will catch and lodge said Negro man in any of the Jails of this State, or the State of Mississippi, by giving me information of the same, or by delivering said Negro-man to me, on my Plantation at Raccourci, Parish of Point Coupee, La. M. BOURGEAT Raccourci.
