Document Description

Runaway in Jail. Committed by the Jail of Warren County, by Justice Cornell, a Negro man by the name of PETER, 20 years old, yellow complexion, five feet six and a half inches high, had on when committed a white woollen [sic] Roundabout, new Cotton shirt and blue casinett pantaloons—says he belongs to BENJAMIN WEST. The owner is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take the above negro away, or he will be sold as the law directs. GADI GIBSON, Jailor
