Document Description

50 Dollars Reward. Eloped from the Subscriber, living at Fort Pickering Chickasaw Bluffs. On The 22nd of March last, a Negro man named ADAM, very dark complexion, a large scar on the crown of his head and another on his left shoulder, proceeding from a recent burn; he has a large lump in the hollow of his left foot, and shuffling walk, from the crookedness of his ankles, had on and took with him, a [?] blanket coat, a pair of buck-skin and Grey Cloth pantaloons, a [?] and cotton shirt. It is probable that he will attempt to ascend Red River, in company with a man by the name of gibbs [sic], who was destined (?) to that country and had in possession the fellows wife: said negro is 21 years old. Any person securing him, and informing me thereof so that I get him again shall receive the above reward, and all reasonable charges paid. ZEBULON MATHIS. Fort-Pickering Chickasaw Bluffs.
