Document Description

Ranaway From my plantation on Tensaw river, parish of Catahoula, on the 12th of March, a negro man NAD, aged about 30 years, 5 feet 5 inches high, well made, strong, and active, his dress not recollected when he went away, as he had three different suits of clothes, an old wool hat, and a pair of new shoes. It is believed he stole a small canoe for descending the river. A liberal reward will be given to whoever will apprehend and lodge him in any jail either in the state of Louisiana or in this state—giving information of the same, or delivering him to me. WILLIAM HOOD The Argus at New-Orleans, and the Alexandria Gazette, will insert the above three times, and forward their accounts to W.H.
