Document Description

Runaway in Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Warren county, 7th May 1832, by James Cornell J. P. in and for said county, a negro man who calls himself GREEN, and says he belongs to JAMES BROWN of said county. Said negro is about twenty or twenty-two years of age, five feet four inches high, dark complexion; had on when committed a domestic shirt, white Janes pantaloons, a striped valentia [sic] vest, an old black fur hat, and a pair of strong brogan shoes. The owner of said negro is requested to come forward, prove property pay charges and take him away, or he will be dealt with as the law directs. JAMES HALL, Jailer.
