Document Description

Runaway in Jail. Was committed to the jail of Warren county, May 6th, 1832, by James Cornell, J. P. in and for said county, a negro woman who calls herself JUDY, and says she belongs to HENRY LEWIS, of said county; said negro is five feet three inches high, of dark complexion, about thirty five years of age, has lost the first joint of her left thumb, had on when committed a domestic plaid dress and strong brogan shoes. The owner of said negro is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges, and take her away, or she will be dealt with as the law directs. JAS. HALL, Jailer. Vicksburg.
