Document Description

$50 Reward, for the runaway and thief. Ranaway, (or was stolen,) [sic] from the subscribers on the 6th of May last, a negro man named MOSES, about 5 feet 10 inches high and heavy built, very dark color, and rather inclined to be bald, aged about 22 or 23 years. Dress, cotton shirt, and striped cotton pantaloons, wool hat with large brim and low crown. We have reason to believe said negro was probably stolen from our plantation by a man by the name of Joseph T. Haden, who is of rather small size, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 8 inches high, dark hair and fair complexion. Said Haden is very genteel in his dress and appearance. We will give fifty dollars for the negro and the detection of the thief, if prosecuted to conviction; or ten dollars for the delivery of said negro, and all reasonable expenses paid. McCULLOUGH & HARMAN. Natchez.
