Document Description

Runaway in Jail. Was committed to the jail of Warren county, 30th July, 1832, by Jas. Cornell, justice of the peace in and for the said county, a negro man who calls his name NAT, and says he belongs to a Mr. BEIDREES, near Bonnet Carrie, Louisiana.—Said negro is about twenty seven years of age, five feet nine inches high, of dark complexion, stout built, and speaks French; had on when committed a domestic shirt and blue linsey pantaloons. The owner of said negro is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges, and take him out of jail, or he will be sold as the law directs. JAMES HALL, Jailer. Vicksburg.
