Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, by H. Tooley, Esq on the 25th of July, 1832, a Negro man calling himself LEWIS, and says he belongs to THOMAS NUTTIVILLE of Wilkinson county, Mi. He is about 35 years of age, five feet five and half inches high, of a copper colour, of healthy appearance; had on when committed, blue striped cotton pantaloons, and white cotton shirt; no particular mark discoverable. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
