Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county by James Carson Esq. on the 8th September 1832, a negro man calling himself BEN, and says he belongs to HENRY LANE of Amite county, Mi. He is five feet five inches high, and about twenty-four years of age, of moderate dark complexion, had on white linsey pantaloons and linen shirt, stout made, and sprightly appearance. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
