Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county, on the 9th day of October, 1832, by F. Wood, Esq. a negro man who, in the first instance, called himself ISHAM, and said he belonged to STEPHEN KENNEDY, of Adams county, but now says he belongs to AMOS ALEXANDER, of said county. He is 5 feet 5 inches high, and about 40 years of age, of yellowish complexion, somewhat knock kneed, and speaks considerably in the African dialect; had on a blue cloth coatee, about half worn, and linen pantaloons. The owner of said negro is requested to comply with the law, and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
