Document Description

Runaway in Jail. Was committed to the Jail of Warren county, 11th November, 1832, by James Cornell Justice of the Peace, in and for said county, a negro man who calls his name NICHOLAS, and says he belongs to a Mr. SETSER on Deer Creek Mississippi: Said negro is five feet nine inches high, complexion rather bright, about twenty seven years of age, had on when committed, a domestic shirt, domestic pantaloons, a blanket big coat, a pair of brogan shoes, and an old fur hat. The owner of said negro is requested to come forward prove property, pay charges and take him out of jail or he will be sold as the law directs. JAMES HALL, Jailer. Vicksburg.
