Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, as a runaway, by C. Griffin, Esq. on the tenth of November 1832, a negro man calling himself PETER, of very dark complexion, six feet high and about 21 years of age; has rather thick lips; had a number of articles of clothing, principally of Kentucky jeans; he was in company with four other negroes, all of whom are now in jail; he says that they all belong to HARBIN MILLER on Lake Washington. The owner of the above described negro ss [sic] requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
