Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams County, as a runaway by C. Griffin, Esq. on the 4th January 1833, a negro boy calling himself SAM, and says he belongs to NATHANIEL COLEMAN, of Jefferson County Miss. He is 5 feet 3 1/3 inches high and about 20 years of age, he is of yellow copper color, stoutly made, has high cheek bones, had on an old blue dress coat, a pair of old blue pantaloons, and a pair of white linsey pantaloons and an old seal-skin cap. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailer.
