Was committed to the jail of Adams County as a runaway by C. Griffin, Esq. on the 6th February 1833, a negro man who’s [sic] name is HARRY, and says he belongs to GEORGE GROVES of Louisiana; he is about 5 feet 8 inches high and about 35 years of age, of very dark complexion; said negro to my knowledge formerly belonged to FRANCIS LITTLE of this place, and I have no doubt but that he belongs to the said Groves. The owner of said negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor. Natchez.
