Sheriff’s Sale. State of Mississippi vs. Jim, a runaway slave. By virtue of the power vested in me by law, I shall expose at public sale to the highest bidder for ready money, at the door of the Court-house of Adams county, on the first Monday in October next, within the time prescribed by law, a certain negro man named JIM, committed to jail as a runaway, and has not been claimed by any owner for six months from the date of his commitment.
