Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams County as runaway on the 25th April, 1833 by Wm. B. Melvin, Esq. a negro man calling himself MOSES, and says he belongs to STEPHEN LUCE of Wilkinson County Mi. near Kingston in Adams County, he is 5 feet 7 inches high of quite dark complexion and about 30 years of age, rather thin visage, he had on mixed casinet pantaloons, yellow linsey coatee good brogans, and an old fur hat. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
