Document Description

Was committed to the Jail of Adams county as a runaway, on the 25th of April, 1833 by Wm. B. Melvin Esq., a negro man calling himself AARON, and says he belongs to DANIEL GUICE, of Franklin county Miss. near the Homochitto river; he is five feet six and a half inches high, and about 21 years of age, of moderately dark complexion, he had on a yellow linsey coatee and dark blue linsey pantaloons, both of which is much worn; also, cotton shirt and good brogans, he is square and stoutly made and has a large scar on the right knee, completely answering the description of said Guice’s advertisement of a negro boy. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of Jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
