Document Description

Sheriff’s Sale. State of Mississippi vs. Lallie, a runaway slave. By virtue of the power vested in me by law, as sheriff of Adams county, I shall expose at public sale to the highest bidder for ready money, at the door of the Court-house in said county on the first Monday in Dec’r. next within the time prescribed by law on said day a Negro Woman named LALLIE, committed to the Jail of said county, as a runaway slave and has not been claimed by any owner for six months from the date of her commitment—said Negro sold for prison and other fees.
