Document Description

Runaways in Jail Committed to the Jail of Warren county [on] the 17th of May, 1833, by E. D. Wilcot[t] justice of the peace in and for said county, a n[illegible] boy who calls himself BEN, and says he is the [illegible]perty of JOEL HARRIS, of Hinds county, 13 miles [illegible] Clinton; he is stout built, black complexion, 5 [illegible] 5 1/2 inches high, about 21 years of age; had on [illegible] cotton shirt, and linen pantaloons. The own[illegible] said boy is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges, and take him out of jail, [illegible] will be dealt with as the law directs. MARTIN ANDING, Jailer.
