Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, as a runaway, by W. B. Melvin, esq. on the 10th day of June, 1833, a negro boy, calling himself JOHN, and says he belongs to Mr. BAGGET of New-Orleans, he is 5 feet 1 inch high, of yellow complexion and about 14 years of age, and stoutly made, he has large cheek bones and large mouth; had on blue casinet pantaloons and cotton shirt. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
