Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, as a runaway, by W. B. Melvin, Esq., on the 29th day of June, 1833, a negro boy calling himself ANTHONY, and says he belongs to a Mr. JO. MILLER, living on or near the Buffalo river, in Wilkinson county, Mi. He is 5 feet 4 ½ inches high, and about 18 years of age, of red yellow complexion, strait hair, sharp long nose, full eyes; had on a [illeg.] shirt and corded pantaloons. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W. CALMES, Jailor.
