Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, as a runaway, by W. B. Melvin, Esq., on the of July [sic], 1833, by Woodson Wren, Esq. a negro boy calling himself ELLICK, and says he belongs to WILLIAM DOUTY, near Fort Adams, Wilkinson county. He is five feet three inches high, light complexion, stout made, about tweny [sic] years of age; had one dark homespun pantaloons, coarse shirt and small wool hat. The owner of said negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. H. GRIDLEY, Shff. A.C.
