Document Description

Was committed to the jail of Adams county, as a runaway, by James Carson, Esq. on the 13th July, 1833, a negro boy calling himself ABSALOM or ABRAM, and says he belongs to Mr. BENTON, of La. between the Petit and Grand Gulfs. He is about 5 feet 8 inches high and about 30 years of age, of moderately dark complexion, large whiskers for a negro, stoutly made, though not robust in his person. Said negro is afflicted with a rupture; he had on linen shirt and pantaloons. The owner of the above described negro is requested to comply with the law and take him out of jail. W. W.
