Document Description

Notice Was committed to the jail of Marion county by C. D. Lawrie, J. P. on the 9th day of June last, a negro boy, about 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, well made, has a scar over both of his eye brows, a large scar on one of his thighs, by a burn; calls his name BRISTER, and says that he belongs to a Mr. JOURNEY of New Orleans—the owner of said slave is requested to come forward and comply with the law, or otherwise said boy will be sold as the law directs, on Monday, the 9th day of December next, 1833 [sic].
