Document Description

$75 Reward. Ranaway from my plantation, near Warrenton, last night, the three following negroes, viz: BOSON, black, about five feet ten inches high, and twenty five years of age; he is stout,—well made, likely and intelligent—he has a wen over the right eye (by which he can be easily known) [sic] has small whiskers, and wears his hat cocked on the right side of his head. He is just from Virginia, and I purchased him about ten days ago. WILLIAM, yellow complected [sic], tall, slender, long legged, and almost eighteen years of age; his ankles bend inwards, feet long, lips thick and pouting and speaks hesitantly. He can read and write. MILLY, black, small, well made, small feet, long nose, smiling countenance, walks short, quick, and erect; and in walking her hips project considerably. She is about twenty three years of age. They were accompanied by a likely yellow complected [sic] man, belonging to one of my neighbors, purchased at the same time, and from the same man that Boson was. As they went off without provocation, I think it is probable that they will aim for the up country. I will pay twenty five dollars for the delivery of each of them to me, or on their committal to the Vicksburg jail. ALEX M’NIELL Magnolia.
