Was Committed to the Jail of Adams county, on the 13th inst as a runaway a Negro man, who says his name is JIM, says he belongs to WM. JONES Esq. near Pinckneyville; he is a stout well made fellow, about six feet high; has a down look when spoken to; large feet; about 25 years of age. Also at the same time, ELIJAH, who says he belongs to GEORGE BELL living about 25 miles below Baton Rouge; he is a bright mulatto; about 25 years old; 5 feet 10 inches high, has a bold look.
