Was committed to the jail of Amite county, on the 13th inst. as a runaway, a negro man named JIM—says he belongs to JAMES GODBERRY, living on the coast, forty miles above New Orleans. He is about 5 feet 7 inches high, femenine [sic] voice, light complexion, with regular features. The owner is requested to take him away according to law. ELLIS E. SPILLMAN, J.A.C. Liberty.
